Green and Red PomeGreenIt Smoothie

This smoothie is quick, easy, nutritious, packed with green veggies, mixed fruits, and topped with pomegranate.

What you need:

handful of broccoli

handful of spinach

1 sliced pear

1 kiwi

2/3 cup of strawberries

2/3 cup of pineapple

1 Pomegranate

Mix everything up with water and pomegranate juice (if you do not have a pomegranate) and enjoy!

Workhorse Power 15 Smoothie

This smoothie is quick, easy, nutritious, tasty, and packed with over 15 grams of protein. There are no added sugars and everything is from whole fruits , grains, and veggies.

What you need and how much protein:

1/2 cup of ground oats = 7 grams

1 tablespoon of chia seeds  = 3 grams

2 tablespoons of flax seeds = 3 grams

3/4 cup of blackberries = 2 grams

2/3 cup of strawberries = less than 1 gram

3/4 cup of blueberries = less than 1 gram

1/2 avocado = est. 3 grams (not added in total protein count)

1 whole banana = est. 1.5 grams (not added in total protein count)

Mix everything up with water (chilled if you like) and enjoy.

Weight Lifting For Size: Chest & Triceps

This is the first workout post for Workhorse Athletics. This is the exercise I have in store for tonight. Feel free to use this on any day that fits your schedule. The key to bulking is leaving the gym with compete muscle failure. I look for weight that is heavy enough for me to do 6-8 repetition. ALWAYS do more reps if you can. If you reach 8 and feel like you can knock out 1 or 2 more, do the reps. Don’t save yourself for later sets.

***If you finish this workout and still feel like you are not at muscle failure, try this finisher I like to do. Jump on the assisted dip and do sets of 10 reps till failure. Use the least amount of weight first. Continue to add more assistance until you hit failure.***

Diamons never quit

The first time I saw this photo a rush of “chills” came over my body. It is powerful, yet simple. On the bottom you have an depressed and broken down individual who was so close to success, but gave up, not knowing how close he really was. He will never see or reach the diamonds (success) because he gave in to the negative thoughts, the trials, the tribulations, and decided to quit. On the top you see another person. He is eager to continue. He doesn’t know how long he has to go, but he knows he will be successful if he doesn’t stop working.

You never know how close you are to success. It could be right around the corner. All you have to do is press forward, keep persistent, never quit, and you will be right where you want to be in life.
